hey fellow enthusiasts. Going to be building 2 seperate 18" woofer cabinets. Looking at using the driver below. I'm leaning twards sealed boxes as my theater setup I also use for multichannel music. I am a little concerned tho about not being able to good sub 20hz output. I also need, if anyone has them or can model them, some plans. I will be having a carpenter make the cabinets. Looking to do furniture grade. Going to be using a rac mounted amp with built in dsp. Any help and input are greatly appreciated. I want to go all out relatively speaking.

I don't know if this sub is great choice for sealed sub.
PE already modeled it

Optimum Cabinet Size (determined using BassBox 6 Pro High Fidelity suggestion)
  • Sealed Volume4.3 ft.³
  • Sealed F335 Hz
  • Vented Volume8 ft.³
  • Vented F323 Hz
It should be vented, but 8cuft box would not be tiny :) 24"x24"x24" (minus the volume of port)

Imo you should instead wait for http://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-um18-22-18-ultimax-dvc-subwoofer-2-ohms-per-coil--295-518
or if in rush go with option b)

Is his Dayton ultimax really better then the one I listed? It's so much cheaper it seems too good to be true.

If that's the case I'll run 4. 2 dual woffer cabinets.
