I will be getting a New 4k OLED TV and have to replace my Sony STR DN1040. I have 5.1 system, possibly looking at going to 5.1.2/5.1.4 . I am not a gamer but do like to listen to music so trying to find something that serves both purposes. I have been going around and around looking at specs, reviews, and forums. I have come to the conclusion that there is not much worthwhile from a quality and audio perspective for under $1000. I have gotten it down to these candidates and I am seeking some input from individuals with experience with these along with ant recommendations. Thanks

Denon AVR-X2700
Denon AVR-X3700
Onkyo TX-NR7100
Pioneer VXS-LX305

I own the Denon AVR-X3700H and i strongly recommend it. It performs well and it has excellent specifications. If you find one, I suggest that you get it without delay because of the current shortage of supplies of new chips. That situation also delays release of new cars which use inboard computers. It's the time to get electronics, otherwise you might have to wait quite a while.

Have a look at the following review which was done with the most precise equipment. Please bear in mind that the reviewer is very critical, but the imperfections in some aspects of the performance are not audible, and he concludes by recommending it:

As this receiver tends to become a little hot, it is suggested to put cooling fans on its top. I use the following products which are rather silent and peform rather well. I also recommend the affordable AC power adapter for them:

i also suggest the Denon AVR-X3700 as you want 9 channels minimum. i also suggest the Yamaha brand. their 2021 models can be on the pricey side though so you could go for a previous model which ends in 85 yamaha 2085 is just one of them

Unfortunately, the Yamaha's YAPO Room EQ is not reported as good as Audyssey Room EQ featured on the Denon AVR. There are many comments on this site and others confirming the fact.

There seems to be some BANKRUPTCY headline news from Onkyo/Pioneer every year.

Even before that, it seems their customer support/reliability has been bad news.

And it seems most audiophiles and HT enthusiasts keep away from these brands and go toward Denon/Marantz (higher-end made in Japan, rest made in Vietnam), Yamaha (made in Malaysia) and Anthem (their $7500 AVR made in Vietnam).

I tried ypao on my current system and I actually prefer the manual calibration that I made instead. So yeah. It's not always the best. Pretty sure not the purpose of my post though.
