Well luckily looking at a nice tax refund and wanting to start my path on upgrading my HT. It has grown quite long in the tooth now(kids will do that)
Here is my current set up.
TV - Mitsubishi Diamond Series WS-65869
Using my Marantz SR 880 for tuner/preamp
Sunfire Cinema Grand 5ch amp(for the power)200xpch
A JVC dvd changer that is a few years old
My speakers are:
Center Kef Reference 100
main L/R Kef Q50's
ss l/r Kef Q15
Now I also have the following collecting dust
Rotel 2 channel amp (i think it is 35w/channel)
Klipsch wall Mountable suround speakers
Marantz RC 5000i remote
Now if you haven't guessed it is a headache to use my system anymore.
Very outdated, not enough modern connections etc....
The Ht is located in a large room in the basement.
Ulimately, I think I want to go with a front projection TV for the main setup useing the Mitsubishi as the TV for the upstairs Family room.
My thoughts were to start with the preamp/processor and upgrade that 1st.
Since that controls all and could very much simplify life again.
Trying to be budget consious(very here) what would you suggest to look at?
Is there anything in the $1500 and under range that will give me all the modern conviences along with a 2nd zone for audio(out door speakers)
I have heard of the outlaw 990, but that appears to be getting older now though the price sure is right lol. I understand that Integra has a new preamp/proc but that might be a lil too expensive. Is there anything else out there to look at?
