I bought an MX-900 and an MRF-260 to run my theater room (upstairs). Now I need to move my living room (downstairs) system to a closet. I have to try and provide a remote solution for around $100 bucks for the move. Obviously I can't get the same combo I have for the theater room at that price so I need to come up with something else. Right now I am thinking three options:

1. Use one of those cheap IR extenders (TERK brand)

2. Use the URC RFS200 combo

3. Purchase a used MRF-250 and a used MX-350.

Which would be the best option? Perhapse you can think of a better value solution?

Thanks

You could get the Universal Remote Control Extender. It turns any IR remote that uses AA or AAA batteries into an RF remote system. Only about $35.

Have you used it? Is it very reliable? Also, since it creates RF, will it interfere or confuse the theater room URC system that is RF as well?

Thanks for the input.

I just recently bought the URC RFS200 combo you mentioned from Amazon for $80 and I love it for the price. Sure I would rather have a fancier one (like your 900), but I am perfectly happy with the RFS200 for the price I paid for it :D. Also your MRF-260 for your main system is RF adjustable so if you have issues with interference (which I doubt you would) you can adjust it.

Yes I've installed the system and set it up for a couple of clients - worked very well. I believe it uses can use two digital RF frequencies so it shouldn't interfere with the URC.

here's website info --

It's priced better at Amazon and has a lot of owner reviews.
