I am going to replace my denon 3806 with seperates. So far i've been looking at these:
Anthem AVM 30 pre with MCA 50 amp
Outlaw 990 with 7700 amp
Rotel RSP-1068 with RMB-1095 amp
speakers are klipsch rf-83's, rc-64, rs-52's and rsw-12 sub. soon to also be adding a sony kds-r60xbr2 when they are released and directv hd.

I think they are all fine choices & which ever set you choose you'll be happy, one thing though,if your gonna buy premium gear then used is the only way to go,warranty's on good gear like your thinking about are way over rated & you can get gear that looks & plays as good as new for half the price or less.

Pre-amp

You have a good receiver that would work well as a pre-amp. You might try it with an outboard amp from Outlaw, Emotiva, Anthem, etc.
On most pre-pro's, you will sacrifice several of the features you have on your Denon.

I have owned the Outlaw 990 and now own the Anthem AVM30. It depends on how much you want to spend. The AVM30 used will cost you about twice what the 990 will. Is it twice as good...no, but it is noticably better IMO and features and inputs/outputs are better on the AVM30 as well.

I own a 3806 too and I am very happy with it. I am curious, what failing of the 3806 are you looking to cure by going with separates?

Klipsch speakers

Your klipsch speakers are very efficient and an easy load for any receiver, Thus you probably wont see a big difference when upgrading to a more powerful outboard amp. If you are happy with denon, consider buying another 3806 or maybe the 4306.
