it all started with me ordering a hitachi 55hdx62 back in july it is now nov and display is nowhere in sight - so i am now reasearching the runco pl-50 - and i figured this would be the best place to find my answers - dealers will tell u anything [well sometimes] to get a sale - but id like to know any and all pro's and con's pertaining to the runco pl-50
1: im already aware of the price - that's kool

thanks in advance

Consumers don't buy Runcos. Dealers who want to sell a high margin product buy Runcos. From what I have seen they are very good - just uber-expensive and targeted for installers to make money.

If I were to recommend any plasma in the world, it would be the Pioneer Elite. Time after time I am simply floored at the enduring quality and reliability of Pioneer plasmas. Simply the best image I have seen from any plasma.

If there were any company that I (repeatedly) say to avoid, it is Runco. Runco protects itself from Internet sales as much as it can and as such, you never get a base for comparison between a Runco plasma in a store, vs. actual cost. Since Runco does not manufacture their product, they are caught in a grey area when it comes to actually enhancing what they sell and actually making it a better product. Quite often I have seen this lead to poor quality from day one, followed by what I consider severe reliability issues, with customer support that is useless since they don't actually build their own stuff.

When, and only when, Runco product is working, does it look good. Unfortunately, what this company offers is far less than the lacks of this company and its products.

In my opinion, and from my experience of course. :)
