Well, CL isn't an active buy/sell where I live, kijiji is. I checked there, but again, I don't know what I am looking for, and I assume for the most part to stay away from Pioneer, Sony, etc...
[Kijiji Turntables]

I kinda live in the sticks... :(
so have you heard much about that Pyle? I keep hearing that name brand, especially when it comes to amps and stuff, but haven't heard much about them in terms of quality, reliability, etc... I would rather just get a new turntable than risk $50 on a new cartridge with this POS kenwood I have now.

That cart. won't ship to Canada .
I would replace your turntable.

I would not dismiss Pioneer. Among vintage turntables, Pioneer made some of the best entry level turntables.

This is just what you want for your needs at a fair price.

There are some nice turntables on eBay, that need some restoration if you are handy.

This seller will ship to Canada. If you are serious about playing vinyl now and again, then this rig is ideal for you.

UNfortunately the shipping rate is $80. What about the Pyle that was mentioned or the AT LP60?

I know nothing about them, but even with the shipping that turntable was a good deal.

The Pyle is a DJ scratch turntable and not what you want for home use.

I have found you a nice DUAL turntable for sale in Canada. It even has an Ortofon cartridge.

Would this be an option?

Pro-Ject Audio Systems

I almost bought one a couple of years ago, while considering getting back into vinyl. I didn't get one, in the end, because other things took precedence and the idea fell by the wayside. It would mean a drive into Halifax - Peak Audio sells them. At least they did when I was looking. The price at that time was about $350 (for black, different colours were higher), if that's in your budget. Wouldn't hurt to give them a call, or drop an e-mail.
