Need LCD TV setup Help

Hello, I have an lg 32lc7d tv, i have the av out connected to a computer sound card. It worked for a few days, but it does not anymore. I've tried both the sound card and onboard sound input but they do not work. Which leaves me the tv. I hooked a speaker up to the white and red and heard sound, very light though. Any suggestions? Thanks.

im thinking its with the sound cards settings/software. if you have powered PC speakers, try to connect those to the TV outs to check for sound. was the speaker you hooked powered?

They are powered. I don't have the adapters to connect them directly to the tv, thats why I went through the sound card. I changed nothing over night, so why wouldn't they of worked that next day?

Probably because of Windows Media Player, which likes to disconnect other devices from sound cards in the middle of the night. I'm always have to reconnect my RME Fireface because of Microsoft's machinations.

I don't know your sound card. Well, you need to get into the set up input menu, and make sure the input is connected to your TV not Windows Media Player.
If you post your sound card, may be there is another member with the same sound card who can help you.

I'm an old geyser who started all this before all this nonsense was even thought of. I know my rig and built it, but when confronted with unfamiliar software, I take longer to figure it out than the youngsters. Fortunately my Wave Lab and RME have excellent instructions. My Wave Lab manual is 765 pages and I keep it at my right elbow. I can tell you that!

If the audio out of the TV is connected to the in of the sound card you must be using a line-in on the sound card.

There are two possibilities for low sound:
1. The line-in level is too low. You will need to go into the control panel for the sound card and boost that level.
2. The audio out on the TV is variable and therefore controlled by the TV's volume control. You would need to use either the fixed audio out (if available) or turn the volume up on the TV. Note that some TVs won't send audio to the audio outs if the internal TV speakers are on so you might have to turn them off.

Software media players don't know anything about the sound card so you can rule out the player unless of course you have its volume too low.

The sound card is an audigy ls. The cables are connected to the proper in's and out's. All volume controls are high and unmuted.
