Well, my current stand is quite nice, but the fact is I just can't fit all of my system with it. The receiver, sattelite receiver, and DVD player all fit nicely with the 40" TV on top, but the problem is I cannot place my Paradigm CC-690 anywhere because its too big. Its an inch too tall even without the feet attached too it to put it on the middle shelf, and two inches too wide.

For the life of me, I can't find any stands in the area that would be a reasonable replacement... I'm so irritated I'm looking at Plasma's so I can mount the TV to the wall and use the top spaces for the Centre. Its overkill, but I'm honestly considering it!

I've been through the exact same thing lately and there have been quite a few threads about this from me and others in the last few weeks.

If you are not constrained by width (mine can't be wider than 66") then there are many options for stands with a wide enough compartment for a large center channel. http://www.racksandstands.com is a good place to start to see what is available. Another alternative is to have one custom built by a furniture maker, which is the path I took.

Rackandstands has just abouit everything but you will be hard pressed to find something that will house a 36" wide center. I looked at about everything on the market to find one that would hold my 26" wide center. I finally found the Plateau SR-V-E - SR-Series 75" TV Stand that worked for me but the center is 33'' so it will not work for you. Your best bet would be to have a stand custom built for you or set your TV on top of that giant center like Warp did.

I was in a similar position with my rack and center - I had a HTM7 placed on a stand in front of my rack but that wasn't ideal. When I upgraded to the HTM3 it just wasn't a workable solution so I put my plasma on the wall and bought a HiFi tower rack which was placed to the side. The center now fits nicely under the plasma as you can see below.
