If your TV does not have AV inputs you will have to purchase a RF converter. This will convert the AV output from your DVD player to RF (like your cable) then an A/B switcher will handle the two RF inputs. Using an RF converter will cause degradation of the signal from the DVD player. A new monitor/TV with AV inputs is the only way to take full advantage of the signal quality that a DVD player can give.
