Hey everyone, I'm new here.
I was hoping you could help me figure out how to set my system up. Right now all my speakers are connected to my 707.
I just ordered my XPA5 and UPA2 from Emotiva, and I know the 12v Trigger in my 707 won't work for those 2 units. Before you ask why, it's because I'm running in 7.1 DSX Wide mode 24/7. If I turn on my 12v trigger, I lose my rear surrounds because zone 2 must be active.
Moving on...
I need to rig this puppy to turn both amps on when I turn on my 707.
I've seen various posts about using 12vdc wall warts @ 300-400mA and having them trigger the power amps...but here's what I want (if possible).
Using my Harmony 900, hitting "on" or "game" or "dvd" and having my 707 and both power amps fire up.
My setup is this:
Bravia 52Z5100
BDP-S560
Xbox 360
HTPC
TX-SR707 7.1 DSX Wide
Emotiva XPA5
Emotiva UPA2
My 707 and HTPC are on a dedicated 15A outlet (home run)
My Emotiva's will be on a dedicated 20A outlet (home run)
The HTPC, 707, XPA5 and UPA2 are in a rack in the basement, so running up and down stairs to power things on and off isn't an option. I want plug & play with my Harmony 900, if I can.
I looked into some of the "switched" APC power conditioners like the G5, but I don't think they fire up from me hitting the remote...I think I have to go downstairs to turn them on and get the switched and delayed parts to fire.
So what's my best solution? If I was to use wall warts, how would I get them to fire and operate my amps when the 707 goes live?
Any help/advice would be great.
Thanks in advance.
