I am trying to recieve over the air HD broadcasts to get my local CBS, ABC, NBC, & FOX in High Def. The problem I am having is my T.V. will not convert the signal from an RF cable to HD. I have several inputs on my T.V. but the problem is the antenna only has RF out on it. I am attempting to run the Antenna threw my Set top box that is conneceted to Component 1. My problem is I cant change the channel on any input except A or B. I have read the manual on my set top box but it doesn't tell me how to find Terrestrial broadcasts with my antenna. I am looking for any answer on how to recieve HDTV from over the air. I am certain it is availiable in my area.

A = RF or coax cable input
B = RF or coax cable input
DTV = Component R,B,G input
Component 1 = Component R,B,G input
Component 2 = Component R,B,G input

It's been a while since you posted your question, but I'll try and help. You'll send the RF of your terrestrial antenna (I'm assuming it is an antenna designed to receive HD, most will) into the RF/Antenna In of your set top box. Then read your set top box manual on how to set the output to Y Pb Pr or something with similar nomenclature, this can typically be done from the front panel on the set top box. Then connect the set top box's component outputs to your television's component 1 inputs (You TV must be HD ready/capable) and change the input on the TV to component 1. You will tune the channels with the set top box not the TV. Use the set top boxes' on screen menus to scan for channels. This will find all the signals strong enough for you to receive and add them to a channel list. Once the scan is complete you'll be able to tune to any channels that were found by using the set top boxes up/down channel button. Hope that helps.
