Hello, I have been lurking around here for some time and trying to take advantage of the wealth of knowledge here. It seems the more I learn the more confused I get lol. Any help you guys can pass my way would be much appreciated!
Lets start here, like everyone, I need good clean detailed sound for watching tv , movies and for music. My current receiver an onkyo tx605, front speakers are Klipsch rb51 II, center is a Klipsch rc10, sub MTX 250watt 12" and for surrounds I just have a pair of cheap polks. With this upgrade I want to get a pair of either RF62 II or RF82 II for the front, move the current RB51 II set to the surround position and purchase a new AVR.
For the AVR I have a budget of $1000 give or take a little. I have been looking at the Denon models either a 3100w or 4100w. So, i decided to call accessories4less and ask their opinion and they steered me towards an Integra 60.5. I must admit, until today I had never even heard of Integra, so I am on the fence about it.I do like the extra power as it opens up the possibility of getting the RF82 II speakers, as I would imagine 150wpc would be about the minimum you would want with them? As it stands now, the dialogue during tv viewing and movies is muddled, no volume balance. Have to turn up the volume to hear dialogue and then get the ears blasted when the action starts. I do have a suspicion that the AVR is about to keel over as I have had random moments of channels dropping and it has just turned off and switched sources on me.
Now to some of the other details, I am working with a newer house with the big open floor plan, so the living room (where the system will be) breakfast nook and kitchen are essentially one big open room roughly 25x45 12 foot ceilings and ceramic tile floors through the whole area. I do not currently have a 4k tv, i do see in the next little while I will most likely upgrade to that as well.
