Need help with my Integra DTR 7.4 remote (RC-550M)

Hello!

My Integra RC-550M remote has a single, game-stopping problem - I can't control volume in Zone 2 on my DTR 7.4. A friend of mine who owns an A/V store had a spare RC-586M remote he gave me. I tested it and it won't control Zone 2 on my amp. Anyone know if I might be able to program it to work? Thanks!

Did U do the following:

• Press the Zone 2 button
• Adjust Level –/+ buttons

Note that once the Zone 2 button is pressed, it will timeout in about 15 seconds if the Level -/+ buttons are not pressed...

Yes, that is the way it worked on the original remote, so, naturally, I pressed the same key combination on the 586-M, but no dice.
When I press the Zone 2 button on the 586, the receiver doesn't recognize it, so subsequently pressing Level+ / Level- has no effect.
I was sure to set Surround Back / Zone 2 to Zone 2 first, also. Thanks!

A possibility I hadn't considered before is maybe the problem is with the receiver and not the remote? Any thoughts? Thanks!
