I recently posted this on AVS forum but was hoping to get any additional feedback I could here:
I recently set up my 4311 in my new place with a new speaker setup and ran the Audyssey auto setup and got some really strange results, i tried to run through some of this forum and the Audyssey setup forum and the Batpig page and I have to say at this point my brain hurts...a lot...mostly in the front but a little bit on the top...anyway I digress. I have Aperion Audio Verus Grand F L & C and Verus Forte towers as rears as well as 2 Velodyne DD+ 10 subs. When I run the auto setup it wants me to reduce the subwoofer volume almost to 0 and it never detects both subs (if I set it to 2 subs manually all is well and I triple checked that I have the correct output for the RCA) also when it comes time to measure EQ the sub it says that the ambient noise it too loud. So I tried skipping the step about calibrating the sub to 75 db and it works but sets the levels at -12db which I read is ...WRONG. And again wont detect both subs. It sets my mains to full range and my rears to small but with a cutoff at 40hz. After everything I read on the forums and whatnot this seems like a gigantic bucket of fail. I really want to use this feature it's one of the reasons I bought this rig so just setting up manually while great and all is a gigantic pain in the butt I was hoping to avoid plus I want to use the volume control stuff. I think I may have a bad mic? maybe? any insight you guys can give me would be huge...also if I am an idiot and just missed a huge post exactly like mine feel free to flame away.
