I have a Harmony 550 remote that up until last night was working perfectly fine.
Last night my wife asked me to fix the setting for "Watch VCR" activity, I updated the software in the computer, updated the firmware to the remote, synced the remote with the computer, everything is supposed to be working until the time when I need to disconnect the remote from the USB, at which point all I get is the "welcome to your remote" message, the remote glows for 20 seconds, the message remains there, and no button does anything. I replaced the batteries, reloaded the firmware and synced once more and still nothing. The computer software doesn't detect any problems when the remote is connected. I checked their online support and all I can see is FAQ's that don't help, or the option to BUY problem-specific support... I'd like to avoid that almost as much as I'd like to avoid buying a new remote all of a sudden. I consider myself to be above average when it comes to this type of technical problems, but I can't find anything that helps. BTW, it's past its coverage period.
Does anybody have any ideas?
