Hello everyone,
I am really new to the HiFi world and I am planning to buy a system (amp + speakers) in the next couple of days. Really excited to step into the HiFi World! I have done my shopping, visited many shops with different brands and listen to many systems with some knowledgeable friends. I am still hesitating between some options and I wanted some input from experts or audio lovers here.
I listen 80% of the time to vinyls on a Thorens MK160 turntable ( I have a good cartridge ), so I need a good system with good phono component. I have a budget of around 3000$, I can strech a bit if it is really worth the purchase. The rest (20%) is mostly digital (IPod, Airport express from Mac).
So here are my options (and price I got in USD)
Amp:
1) Rega Brio (670$)
2) Micromega IA-60 (1150$)
Speaker:
1) Pro-Ac Studio 110 (1000$)
- did not fall totally in love with the speaker but price is good
2) Avalon Acoustics Evolution NP-1 (1250$)- I like them a lot
3) Pro-Ac Reponse D-2 (2600$) - very impressed but they are a bit out of
budget - but price is good, maybe worth the investment.
If I had to buy today I would go with the Rega Brio + Avalon NP1, but I am still hesitating. Do you think this is a great combination?
Thanks in advance for your comments!
