Need Help with Denon 4806 Sub Out Issue

I just purchased a used Denon 4806 and cannot make the sub work on CDs. It works fine on surround through the Tos Link, but does not work when I play a CD through the same input. I also used the CD input with Analog…..still the same, no Sub. The indicator lights display the left, right and Subwoofer channel. My feeling is its something in the config, but cannot see it. I am used to my 3805 which is similar, but the 4806 does have extended configuration functions over the 3805. I hope it’s not a faulty unit, so I need help here before going down that route.

Also, does anyone know how to reset the complete configuration on these units?

Under "ADVANCED PLAY" in the set-up menus go to "2ch DRCT/ST". This is where you'll find what you're looking for. Just set a x-over point, set sub to yes, and it should get you started.
Also, you may want to verify that your speaker configuration is set to small in the primary set-up menu. This is a great starting point for getting that sub to play nice with the rest of your gear. Hope this helps.

You put me on the right track and now it works. Many thanks!!

PS. The 4806 is so much better sounding than my 3805 on 2-channel, which is what I wanted, so this was a good purchase!
