New poster here!

I am fairly new to the REAL audio world, and am trying to get a system put together from my outdated equipment(Technics Rack System). I have been looking primarily at the Yamaha RX-V750 vs. an Integra DTR-5.4 A.V. receiver. Any opinions on which will be better? I am building a new house and putting in Paradigm surround sound speakers, with old Technics front speakers, with a Klipsch center.

Thanks in advance, and I have loved reading this forum for weeks!

Rig.

Hi

One of the things I did when I bought my Yamaha receiver was to check each and every spec, and compare, of all the options I had. Have you done that?
I had a Marantz receiver, and moved to Yamaha for good!!!! Hope it works for you

Conflicting reviews

I have been looking and listening to both receivers, and getting conflicting reviews. They both sound great to me, and the Integra looks like it has more features. The Yamaha is a little less, but the Integra looks to be a little better quality? Why does Integra only operate through dealers?

I don't know how familiar you are with Integra's products but they are Onkyo's high-end line. Therefore, you get all the features and reliability of an Onkyo (which would be comparable to Yamaha) amd the added benefit of upgraded sound performance and power and build quality of a higher-end line. I would go with the Integra. Yamaha makes a good product, I just much prefer the Integra.
