Need Help with Components after Fire

I have just recently had a fire in my living area, and I will need to replace all of my A/V equipment. I am going to have around 7k to spend, and I am having some difficulty choosing because of my lack of knowledge on the new technology. I went to the systems AH recommends, and I am stuck between the 5k and 12k. I am planning on getting either the 50' or 60' Sony LCOS DLP with model number (Sony Grand WEGA KDS-R60XBR1 60") I think the speaker recommendation seems fine to me, but I am confused about the AMP/DVD. Will I get comparible A/V out of the yamaha duo, or should I spring for the Denon set? Also, I am just in the prelim stages of making decisions, so if you have any thoughts on any of the components, I would appreciate it.

Here are the links to the recommendations

As you can see from my sig.line, I've got the same basic electronic setup as shown in the $12K. I've been very pleased with both picture and music quality, as well as getting Denon upgrades online when available. I've also been very happy with using the single Denon remote to control everything, but I seem to be one of the folks who like this particular Denon remote-take a look at it yourself before you buy and keep a good supply of batteries on hand if you go with the 3806.

Bryan...I'd go the Denon for the Audyssey EQ if for nothing else...

I'd wait for HDMI 1.3 on the receiver. If you can't wait, get a model year older and save 30% or more. You can upgrade in a few years when the new AVR's pass the HD/HDCP signals properly. Yamaha's 2500 and Denon's 3805 are bargains right now.

Denon makes a great DVD player, but so does Oppo for much less. Is the DVD player for pq, or sq? Have you check out the Panasonic players?

Have you considered the new Elite AVR or DVD player?

How about the Swan speakers which feature HiVi drivers?

With that amount of cash, you should really take your time on this. For one thing, I'd be looking for a different sub than what's suggested. They're good, but don't rate as highly as others in their pricerange.

I am not really sure where to go from that. Could you shoot some suggestions?

Sure,

I'd say get the Yamaha RXV2500 at www.ubid.com, a full set of Swan speakers from www.newegg.com - rosewood is nice (I like the 5.1 towers), a HSU VTF-3 in rosewood from www.hsuresearch.com (or if you can go larger, an SVS PB12 Plus or Plus/2 in rosewood from http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box-plus.cfm, and an Oppo DVD player from www.oppodigital.com.

The 60" set can be priced at www.pricegrabber.com for best pricing - but shipping may kill the savings other than off setting taxes locally. I think the set can be had for $2999 plus s/h.
