Need help shutting off an amp

I have an Outlaw 750 that I bought several years ago and used with a Yamaha RX-V1. To supply power to the amp I connected it to an Adcom power conditioner, which has two power cords - one power cord to supply the electricity, and one to plug into the back of a receiver, which acts as a turn-on switch when the receiver is powered up. I have since swapped the Yamaha for a Rotel RSP-1068 pre/pro, which does not have switched power outlets on the back. I bought two different brands of miniplugs (which I'm absolutely sure are mono) to connect the Rotel to the Outlaw, which should turn the amp on and off. The problem is it doesn't. I've contacted both manufacturers for help, but neither knows what the problem could be. Does anyone know of any other way I can get my amp to turn on and off in sync with the pre/pro?

The 12v triggers are programmable on my pre/pro. I went online and looked at the owner's manual for your pre/pro, seems yours has progammable 12v triggers, too. See page 29 of your Rotel owner’s manual, left hand column. It also tells you to look in the Setup section of the manual; see page 33, for details on how to configure the 12v triggers using the setup menus (OSD). The Rotel should switch the Outlaw amp on/off.

You are correct, the trigger cords are basic, el cheapo mono connections with std 1/8-in (?) plugs.

Thanks for your help 9, but I've done everything the manual says without success.

The manual says, surprisingly, to connect the trigger plug while the amp is on. Is this what you did?
