Need help setting up an affordable stereo for my deck

Last year, I built a fairly large deck with a roof over it, and we also put in a pool. In the fall, I purchased an entry level projector and a 150" screen. I use a roku ultra to cast video through my projector.
The projector is hung on a shelf, hung by chain under the roof. I will be mounting the stereo receiver I'm inquiring about the same way, under the roof and out of the elements.
I am looking to add some audio to the deck this year. I am open to suggestions, but please be kind as I haven't kept up with tech in years. I am considering getting a Yamaha receiver with Bluetooth, and a couple pairs of Yamaha outdoor speakers. Bluetooth would be great for streaming music through our phones when we are in the pool, but I'd also like my local fm stations from time to time. Bluetooth connectivity would be nice, but from what I've seen, it looks like Pyle is the only company that offers Bluetooth connectivity with their wall mountable outdoor speakers. Not sure how far Pyle has come, but they were garbage back in the day. Bose and Klipsch outdoor speakers are above my current budget. Lastly, I'm trying to figure out how to get audio through this stereo setup for my movies played through the roku ultra on the projector. Thank you for any suggestions!

Hello and welcome. You would do well to consider an RX-V4A. Costco has the TSR-700 for the same price as the RX-V4A with additional channels and features if interested. Devices can be connected directly to the receiver using HDMI and then from the receiver to the projector. Connect the receiver to your network and use MusicCast for streaming music and enjoy superior audio playback than that from a bluetooth connection.

Welcome to the forums. I'm pretty new to this hobby myself, so I'm not the most knowledgeable person here, but I can at least help you get started.

You're right about Pyle. They're literally a pyle of crap. Don't waste your money.

That Yamaha receiver you linked is only a stereo receiver from what I can tell. Meaning, there is nowhere to connect any kind of AV equipment to it that I can see (the specs confirm this). You won't be able to connect your projector to it and use it for movies. On top of that, it's only 2 channels so only 2 speakers can be hooked up to it.

As far as outdoor usage goes, I don't have any experience in that department so I can't tell you how good (or bad) those speakers might be. From reading the specs on them, they seem like they'd be OK for your intended purpose.

You might want to look at the used market and try getting a half decent AVR (audio visual receiver) that can power 5 (or more) speakers.

I'm sure more people will chime in here to give you some more guidance.

Cheers.
