Need help: Setting cross over fre question ???

My speakers specs:
Fronts L & R: cross over @ 150Hz, 4KHz
Surrounds L & R: cross over @ 4kHz
Subwoofer: fre range -6dB at 22Hz and 180Hz adjustable, fre response -3dB 26Hz -150Hz
Center: cross over 400Hz, 4kHz

What should I set my sub woofer fre to?
What does the crossover settings in receiver mean? Does it mean (1) the fre below that should go to sub woofer or (2) it's the fre for main fronts switch from mid to low?
I purely guess (1) is true. Should I set the cross over fre in the receiver to be exactly same as what I adjust in the subwoofer?
Thanks for ur advices.

For grins, I use what ever the speaker will handle. For the sub, I use the 125HZ and below going to it. My fronts and rears are full range speakers, so I let them have all they can. Surrounds are not finished being built yet, but the crossover for them will be set at 125HZ and above.
Generally a smaller speaker will not be able to reproduce as accurately at the lower end than a larger speaker, physical properties. So with smaller woofers in the all but subs, chose by speaker size not what the manufacurer says it will do, because they tend to push the limit.

Frequency response and crossover

Blksnday,
You are confusing a couple of the frequency specs on your speaker. These specs refer to the internal crossover in your 2 or 3 way speakers:
Fronts L & R: cross over @ 150Hz, 4KHz
Surrounds L & R: cross over @ 4kHz
Center: cross over 400Hz, 4kHz

For example, the fronts have a woofer, mid, and tweeter crossed over at the frequencies indicated above. Don't worry about these specs. However, you need to look up the frequency response of the speakers which indicates the range of frequencies they can produce. It should be something like this:
60 Hz to 20K Hz +/- 3dB

The sub crossover must be high enough that there is not a gap between the frequencies that the sub can produce and what the speakers can produce. Your surrounds will probably cut out at a higher frequency than the mains (80-100 Hz) so start with this crossover setting.

Set this crossover setting on your receiver and use the LFE cable to the sub. No turn the crossover knob on the sub all the way up to 150 Hz so it doesn't interfere with the receiver.

Oh, since this the first time ever I have & set up a speaker system. Too many infos make me confuse.
Fre for the surrounds: 80Hz - 23kHz +-3dB
Fre for the fronts: 44Hz - 22kHz +- 3dB
Subwoofer: -3dB 26Hz - 150Hz adjustable
If I set receiver's cross over to 80Hz & sub's to at least 100Hz. Would that introduce the double (or triple) whatever for fre from 80Hz to 100Hz, the sound will come from all speakers?

I just set my receiver to 60 & turn the crossover on the sub amp all the way up. Sounds great to me.

Based on the frequency response of your speakers, 80 or 100 Hz is probably the best crossover setting on your receiver. Set all speakers to LARGE. I would recommend turning the sub's crossover all the way up to 150 Hz so that when you make changes on the receiver, the sub doesn't interfere.

EDIT: Oops. I meant set all speakers to SMALL
