need help on where to put cable box

I am looking for ideas on where to put a cable box and DVD player. I got a 32" LCD for my bedroom. I don't want anything on the floor and want something under the TV but on the wall to put a Cable box and DVD player. One problem is I have about 2 ft. of space to work w/ then there is crown molding. I am thinking of just getting a glass shelf from HD or Lowes and putting it under the TV. I found ones at stores but they are like 3 ft. long and need something shorter. thanks for any input. Dan
