I am considering buying one of the following systems. can i get some feed back on how much i should consider spending. Also, which system would you choose. any changes would be considered.

I am not an audiofile by any means. I like watching my sports and movies. But I also like listening to music. split is approximately 65/35.

System 1: Paradigm studio 40's,cc 470,adp 470's,Pdr 12.Sony 60 inch lcd rear projectiontv.Denon 2910 dvd,denon 3805avr,universal theater mastermx 850,universal theater master mrf 250,panamax 4300 surge protector = interconnecta and speaker wire.

System 2: same speakers, rotel rsx 1056,rotel rdv 1040, everything else the same.

system 3, substitute axiom epic 60 -500 package for paradigm's.

The system will go into the basement. It looks like a shoebox config with bump outs on one side. short deimension is 12 ft., long dimension is app 48 ft., ceiling is 8 ft., approx cubic ft is 5500 cubic ft.

I think you've narrowed it down quite well. After checking out all your options, I can't decide either. I really like Rotel, and love my Denon 3805. I've read nothing but good things about Axiom, but absolutely love the sound of my friend's Paradigm Studio 7.1 setup. He has a Denon 2803, and it drives the Paradigms beautifully. I guess it you want avoid the mainstream, go with the Rotel/Axiom option. Very few people will have that setup, and based on reviews, should sound outstanding. I can only vouch for the Denon/Paradigm option and know it will blow you away. Sorry to be of absolutely no help, but I don't think you can go wrong with your options.

do you have any suggestion on how musch i should be looking to spend.
i am leery of ordering over the internet.so i am probably going to order from a high end video store where i live.

My wife and I recently bought a Paradigm system; Studio 100's, CC470 center, ADP470 rears, and a PW2200 sub. It is powered by a Denon 3805. We are thrilled with this system. If you decide to go this route I am sure that you will be very satisfied. Good luck with your decision. The only thing that we need to buy is a universal remote and I can't decide what to buy. We spent about $5500.00 + tax after all new cables. We bought from OVATION in Greenwood, IN. Their support and knowledge was excellent. After shopping with them my wife refused to consider buying on the .internet

On such a equipment package, expect some negotiating room and/or benefits.

10% discounts are quite common, and 20% is not unheard of, but never ignore the benefits .... free extended warranties, help your self to a handful of DVD's, free cables and speaker wire and surge protector, free delivery & basic setup, etc. The free benefits can be worth more than any discount that you might ever receive.

Looks like good choices. If you go the Paradigm route (an excellent chice IMHO, not that I'm biased being a 'digm owner), you will have to go to a local dealer as they aren't sold over the internet. For this kind of a purchase I think you're better off going local anyway.

To be honest with you if you opt for the 100's you better get a good amp to add to the receiver if you really want to hear them at their full potential.
