Hi All,

need some help here. I have a Denon AVR-3803 and the set of Klipsch RF speakers. 2- Front Floor Speakers, Center speakers, 2 surround speakers, and the 12 inch subwoofer.

I was wondering how can I get the ful capacity of these speakers. It seems that the treble is too low. is it that my Denon is not providing enough wattage to the Speakers? My hi treble end doesn't sound as loud. but my low bass end is fine. what do i need to do? should I get an Equalizer and an additional amp to power the five speakers i currently have or I should just get the 2 channel amp to power the two front speakers.

If so, what Brand and model? I actually on a buget so can't really spend so much. thanks.

Klipsch speakers

Your Klipsch speakers are very effcient so your mid-level Denon shouldn't have a problem driving them. When testing your mains, set it to 2 channel so they are getting all of the available power from the receiver. The speakers and the room have the most impact on what you hear, but the receiverr and audio source can also be a factor.

If you want to experiment with a budget amp, the Behringer A500 is only $180.

Hi JCpenny,

I current have five speakers connected to the Denon receiver and how do I change the setting to just 2 channels in the receiver so all power goes into just my main. should i connect it into the "B" selection of the speakers connection? Or do I switch the output as Stereo? I did try that and it still seems that the receiver is not driving enough power to the Mains. Please advise. Is there a Denon AVR-3803 owner out there that can help me out on this? thanks

Your receiver has practically nothing to do with your SQ. It's all speaker choice and room acoustics. If you want different sound characteristics that's where to focus your time and energy. Since you are probably not going to buy new speakers, that leaves treating the room. It can make a night and day difference.

When you play a 2 channel source like the CD, Tuner, etc. only the mains will be running unless you enable a DSP mode like 7-channel stereo or Dolby Pro Logic.

Have you tried adjusting the tone controls on the receiver? Increase treble, lower bass.

Hi,

Yes I did but it seems to be low. The clarity of the Treble seems a little bit underpower or something. I can't seem to get that Treble end higher? Do I need a better Speakers for that or shopuld I add a different surround to bring in that High Freq. Do I need an equalizer? if so, what brand and type? would want to spend no more then $200. thanks guys

Here's my .005. Like you I love my highs - gotta have them. I bought 3 Behringer A500 connected them (bridged) to the mains and 1 to the center channel. Bridged is suppose to bring 500w/channel. My speaker's efficiency rating is 89db. The amps brought out better sound quality to me. No technical method of testing just relied on the good ole ears. Also, I noticed the surrounds were louder after connecting the amps. According to readings on this and other forums, the increase volume (surrounds) is because I took the load off the other channels (front/center).
