Good evening everyone. I am new to this site and wanted to say hello. I decided to join so that I could expand my knowledge on home audio and car audio. My current setup is listed below.
Klipsch Quintet iii 5 speaker surround sound, satellite speakers-50w rms, center-80w rms
Klipsch Synergy 10" subwoofer, 200-Watt max
Yamaha Receiver - Model:RX-V463 105x5 watts RMS
I'm currently having an issue with the subwoofer, I am not sure if I have it hooked up to the receiver correct or not. Can someone please help. I have the subwoofer output jack on the back of the receiver connected to LFE/Left on my klipsch subwoofer. The cord I am using is a white tip audio cable like off an RCA cable. The cable actually has a red/white on each end. I am using only the white on each end. White tip connected to receiver subwoofer output, the other end going to LFE/Left on klipsch subwoofer. So far, everything is working, all speakers including subwoofer, I am just concerned the subwoofer is not hooked up correctly. I have my blu-ray dvd player hooked to the receiver labeled DVD hdmi and my tv hooked to the hdmi out on the receiver. I only use the stereo for watching movies since its actually HD 1080p then. I do not have cable and no channels are in HD. Another question I have is, if I want to hear the surround sound from actual basic cable, why cable do I need to hook up.
