Do you think the speakers listed above will be blown away by the reciever I plan on buying?

Thank You in advance for your help.

depends if you plan to do mosty HT or use alot of SACD or DVD-audio.

if mosty HT, you could set your center and rears to "small" in the receiver set-up menu and just not turn it up extremely loud. that cuts out the bass portion of the signal and would lighten the load. the speakers might get a few spikes, but would not see a full load all the time. you don't really need bass from the center and rears anyway.

if you run five channel music (sacd or dvd-a), then all the speakers run full power all the time and you would have some crispy critters...

Thanks for the info.

What speakers do you think would work best for this receiver? I plan to what 5.1 movies and listen to music with them.

without a budget, I would recommend you look at (price going up here)

Infinity, Athenas, or Mordaunt-Shorts (under a grand for a whole system)
Energy / Rocket (about $ 1500)
Axiom (about $2K)

try Crutchfield.com for the Infinities, bestpriceaudiovideo.com for the Athenas, and Accessories4less.com for the Mordaunts.
some of the energy line are at 6ave.com and the rockets are at av123.com
the Axioms can be had at axiom.com
