I just got a Creative Labs Audigy 2 NX and I'm trying to get it to send 5.1 sound to my Yamaha RX-V557 Receiver. My receiver is only picking up the left and right channels from the sound card, I'm pretty sure that my sound card isn't broken because I can get 5.1 out of the 3 3mm jacks in the back. I've tried disabling the decoder on the sound card but that didn't help, I'm pretty sure the problem is with my receiver, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Are you running optical or coax? And what are you playing?

Optical, and I was playing a copy of Serenity with WinDVD 7. I figured out what the problem was, the optical connection only sends two channels, i couldn't get it to send any more, so I'm just using a couple of 3.5mm to RCA connectors I have to go from the sound card to my receiver's multichannel input, but I have a problem now, there is no way for me to set the crossover, apparently the receiver doesn't do crossover stuff if you use multichannel input.

[edit]Odd, anything in winamp with base sound horrible, its clear the fronts are getting more bass then they can handle, but in Windows Media player, its sounds amazing, only the sub is getting the bass
