this is a new game for me so all info even if seemingly basic is appreciated;I am in the process of setting up a home theater and desperately need advice;I have just received my speakers , axiom, M80 front R+L,VP150 center,QS8 surrounds: 4 side,2 back, 2 high front, and 2 EB600 subs.I have purchased 4 side surrouds because of the very large dimensions of the room 35x40 and also because the seating will be staggered and varried ( sofas, bean bags, lazyboys) will be in constant flux {4 children with friends etc..}.2 Outlaw amps are on their way 300x7 and 125x7 as well as prepro integra DHC 80.1. Questions abound...How to I connect my 4 side surrounds?the integra has balanced and analog outputs, can I use both at the same time which would give me my 4 side surrouds or is there a way to split my inputs going to amps (14 channels availble);if this is an option do xlr cables exist that are Y config??or are there RCA cables in Y config??I may later on use 6 side surrouds,3 R and 3 L...are there cables availble for this set up??Also when using integra in setting up system are there options for setting up multiple side surrounds??In setup can I independantly set each sub if they are connected to one another by xlr out sub#1 to to xlr in sub#2 instead of using the 2 sub outs on prepro???Please be as detailed as possible as this is all very new to me .At present display is a pioneer kuro 141D monitor but will be setting up projector as 2nd display in next 6-10 months ,any suggestions???

Most likely both the balanced and unbalanced outputs can be used at the same time, but there might be differences in the signal strengths. If so, you’d have volume differences between the speakers that you would not be able to adjust for, unless your amplifiers have input gain controls.

or is there a way to split my inputs going to amps (14 channels availble);if this is an option do xlr cables exist that are Y config??or are there RCA cables in Y config??
Yes, it’s easy to find RCA “y” splitters That would be the best route, and it would also avoid the possible mismatched level issue previously mentioned.

Also when using integra in setting up system are there options for setting up multiple side surrounds??
Not the way you’re going to be using them. There are set-up and level controls for each output – left, right, center, right surround etc. If you split say, the right rear surround to two amplifiers / speakers, there will only be one level adjustment for the two of them – again, unless the amplifiers have their own input gain controls. But as long as both the speakers are identical, this won’t be a problem.

In setup can I independantly set each sub if they are connected to one another by xlr out sub#1 to to xlr in sub#2 instead of using the 2 sub outs on prepro???
No, as above – everything connected to one output gets the same set-up settings. However in the case of subs, they have their own controls built in, so you can adjust them independently from the Integra.
