Hi guys,

I'm looking for a good stereo amp from 150 wpc to 200 wpc. I don't mind used. I just need something good and affordable.

Any help would be appreciated.

I recommend the Quad 909 as the best two channel amp you can buy in that power range. You can buy a more expensive amp, but not a better one, or one likely to work perfectly for a half century or more.

All reviews are glowing. Peter Walker's Current dumping amps which he introduced in the early seventies, are pure genius. Current Dumping is a Quad patent, and no other manufacturer can make them.

There are two for sale on Audiogon right now.

Actually, I'm pretty sure you can get a McIntosh 2250 (250wpc) in that price range as well (IIRC about $850)... already proven to last a quarter century.

Go down 1db or so and you can get a 120wpc McIntosh 2120 for about $450 (as soon as I replace the bulbs on mine, it may go up for sale).

Audiogon is your friend.

Outlaw Audio, Emotiva, Parasound, Rotel, Sunfire, B & K, Nad, & Adcom all make good amps that will get the job done.

In Outlaws case you would have to buy 2 of their monoblocks.
