Need help deciding on subs.

I am new to this so please bear with me. I currently have the VELODYNE DIGITAL SUB-WOOFER MODEL# DD15 SB. I want to add a second sub but I cannot afford a new Velodyne. I am thinking of matching up the Velodyne that I have with the new SVS SB 4000. Then again I hear that I should have matched subs which means I would have to sell my velodyne and purchase two matched subs such as the svs PB13 ultra. Then again I can purchase the SVS SB4000 and try it before I get rid of the Velodyne which I really like. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

LOL decisions decisions. I think it's easier to deal with multiple of the same sub but you might add something like the Hsu ULS15 to your DD15, as long as they're somewhat similar in performance (I'm guessing they're not too different) may work well enough, too. Might look at Seaton, JTR and Deep Sea Sound as well. Maybe Funk, too.

I like your idea of going with the SB4000 first. With SVS's return policy you have nothing to lose if it doesn't work (but I bet these are pretty close).
I believe that SVS is discontinuing the SB13 Ultras. Call them and confirm before you make plans involving it!

The other brands LovintheHD listed also make some impressive subwoofer that are fair competition for your V'dyne!
