I'm hoping somebody can help me choose a new receiver to replace my dead Denon AVR1010. I have old equipment but I want to get a good receiver that I can use in the future. I have a pair of KEF C85 front speakers (4 ohms) and a Mirage MCC-R center speaker (12 Ohm). I don't have rears or a sub-woofer but I'll get them in the future. I have an old Toshiba 36" CF3566A TV from the late 80's that I'll have to get rid of eventually (even though the picture is still beautiful).
The other components are:
Sony PS-LX250H turntable
Denon DCM-450 CD Player
Panasonic PV-V4522 VCR
Toshiba SD-4800 DVD player
Technics RS-TR255 cassette deck
Phillips DVP642/37 DVD player
I also use the receiver to power a pair of Advent Prodigy Tower II speakers (8 Ohm) in the basement, a pair of Advent Mini-Advent II speakers (6-8 ohms) and a Mini-Advent Subwoofer III in the kitchen, and a pair of outdoor speakers on the deck. I used a Niles SPS-4 Speaker Selection System between the speakers and the receiver.
I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I like a flat sound (no boomy bass, no bright treble). I like the KEF's because of this (Bose small cube speakers sounded dreadful). I will use it for music 75% (jazz and classical) and video 25%. The equipment is in my living room that is 14'x22' and the equipment is on the wall that is 14' wide. The couch and chair is in the middle of the room.
After research on this forum and other websites, I've narrowed it down to the Yamaha RX-V2500, Marantz SR7500, Pioneer Elite VSX-52TX, Onkyo TX-SR702, and the Harman Kardon AVR435.
Can you help me narrow the choices based on the information I've provided? I sure appreciate it and thank you in advance.
