Need Help Choosing a Receiver

Hi,

I've recently been buying up Klipsch reference II series speakers for a living room setup. I have currently a pair of RF-42 IIs (fronts), RC-42 II (center), pair of RB-41 IIs (surrounds)...going to use two klipsch quintet IVs for rears (until I buy another set of RB41s). I'm looking for a receiver for around $400 and from my research I've found these two to be the best options? My main concern is music and movie SQ, and getting something that will pair well with speakers. The room is 16' x 19'....please let me know what you think and if there are other options I should consider.

So Far these stand out to me:

Denon AVR-1913 - $399
Onkyo TX-NR616 - $344

Thanks for your help!

Welcome!

Both can handle your speakers:
Onkyo TX-NR709 7.2-Channel 3-D Ready Network A/V Receiver | Accessories4less
or
Has mostly what the 709 has except no Phono, no Audyssey xt and no pre-out. Has the same power as the 709 maybe a bit more:
ONKYO HT-R990 THX 7.1-Ch Network Home Theater Receiver | Accessories4less
Will I notice a significant difference between a receiver with Audyssey multeq & multeq ex? I've noticed there's quite a jump in price from one or the other...

I wouldn't notice the difference because I always end up BYPASSING/ TURNING OFF Audyssey and all EQ/DSP. :D

For low end AVR, I would probably stick to Yamaha since their reliability record is probably the best. I would not buy any Onkyo lower than the 800s model due to poor reliability record and crappy customer support. I would never buy any refurbished AVR either because my luck sucks with them (others may have better luck).

I think for low budget, Yamaha is first, followed by Denon, Marantz, Pioneer, Sony, HK.

Denon 1913 or

Pioneer 1122:

Or Pioneer Elite 51:

Or HK 1650:

I think the 990 will do you fine like acudef said you don't need the Audyssey multeq, but it's nice to have and the one the 990 has a good one If you need it. I've bought refurb from that company along with alot of forum members and never had a problem + no one here has ever had a complain when buying from them that I know of. Like I said it has alot of power (130 watts per channel), so you really don't need the pre-out. For the money it can't be beat.
Check out the review of just the receiver: http://www.hometheater.com/content/onkyo-ht-s9400thx-home-theater-box
