looks like HDMI is "the" big selling point this season. 3 HDMIs are plenty....The only essential use is for Blueray and lossless audio therefrom.....putting that issue aside, I would opt for a Yamaha or a Denon before the Sony for a number of reasons...would choose Denon in your case and a Yamaha for a lower end unit...
