Need help changing my old system

I have to change my old Carvers( TFM 6 cb, TFM 35x and CT 26) and perhaps my Bose Acoustimass 5. I am lost. I am finally deciding between a Marantz pm7005 and a Rotel ra 12 but I need small speakers (my wife doesn't want big stuff in our living room, I used to have JBLs, but I had to take them away), and I think I need a sub. I have a 21 x 18' living room. I appreciate your help

$1200 just for speakers and sub??
Why do you HAVE to get rid of Carver stuff? TFM-35x Amp is especially nice one.

I had a problem with the pre amp, and I took it to a person who was supposed an expert and his ruin it, and the amp I making a little noise, so as I don't have where take it i prefer to buy something new an with time try to find it. But you're right its a nice amp
