I'm about to purchase another subwoofer in a week or two after i do some more research. I just bought a velodyne VPR1000 and retured it the other week and just got the BIC h100. This is a great subwoofer and really is better than what i expected.

But there is something in the back of my mind telling me to go ahead and spend a few extra hundred and get something I really want. My wife told me she doesnt care what i do.

My budget is $500 to $600 and wanted to know what would be a better sub to get. The SVS 20-39pci or 16-46pci. I have done a lot of research but i still dont really know witch one is better for me. My room is kind of large, but it is very open. Open to the kitchen and Sun room. I'm not sure how big it is but its not huge. I think its around L 23x W14x H8

I will be using it for 35% music and 65% movies. Like i said, i have been looking all throught these forums but i still cant decide what to do.

Go with the 20-39pci. In a large room, you'll want the extra output. This sub still gets down to 16Hz with very usable output at the seated position. Most people going with the 16-46 seem to end up getting a second 16-46 for added output. Few movies utilize the 10-15Hz response the 16-46 is cabaple of, and at the added expense of output, the 20-39 IMO is the better choice.

The PCi 20-39 is a beautiful sub right in your budget.
