need good blu ray to hook into my Onkyo TX-NR809

Hello all I am new to this site and very much lost at this home theater stuff. So I decided to consult the help of all of y'all. I am currently stationed in Afghanistan and trying to build myself a home theater back home in good ole USA. I just purchased the Samsung 55in 8000 series 3D LED HDTV, along with a Onkyo TX-NR809 AVR. My speakers are in wall fronts ( Definitive Technology 5.5LCR's) and my rear are in ceiling (Definitive Technology 6.5R). I am wanting and needing 2 things to complete my system. I need a good Blu Ray player that works well with this set-up, and a good sub set-up. I was thinking about running 2 subs, but I am still on the fence about it. I just need some good sound advice from good people. thank you for any cooperation! Oh yea let me know what you think about what I have so far, and let me know if I am headed down the right path.

You don't mention a budget but for $500 I'd look at an Oppo BDP-93. For $300 I'd look at a Sony PS3, yes it's a game console but it's still a great Blu-Ray player. Under $200 I just don't know but Sony and LG both have excellent players at that price range.

It's impossible to suggest a sub without knowing how much cubic footage the sub(s) will have to deal with. I'd take some measurements of the listing room and any spaces open to that room including hall ways. Include the ceiling heights so you can calculate cubic footage. Sketches are helpful to. Once you have all that information contact SvSounds, Hsu Research, and Rythmik and have them each size a solution for your room.

I'm a huge fan of Panasonic BD players. For expensive, Oppo is the way to go, and anything more expensive than Oppo is (IMO) money wasted.

Sony stuff is in the same league as Panasonic, but I think their build quality tends to not be as good. Still, it's good. LG I wouldn't touch or recommend. Same for Samsung players. Samsung makes a heck of a TV, but their players... meh.

Anyway, if you need wi-fi, dual outputs, analog, etc. Panasonic has a BD player which will work for you.

For subwoofers, I've gotta insist that Epik subwoofers get added to your list. I'm a big fan of sealed enclosures and think that their stuff sounds great.
