hey guys,

so i already have a rotel RX-503 reciever, and today my grandpa gave me a pioneer CD player (model PD-Z86M) im trying to hook these 2 together, but he also gave me a big box of components hooked together it is a box with a stereo FM/AM digital synthesizer tuner hooked to a stereo double cassette deck reciever (model RX-Z16) and that is hooked to stereo double cassette deck.
the back of my rotel has an aux plug to where i can plug my CD player into it but there is a wire coming out of the back of the CD player that says connect this equipment with Dc-Z86, DC-Z76, and when i turn on the rotel to AUX mode and turn on the CD player, the CD player scans and looks for the disks and says no disk when there are all 6 in there... my other problem is i want to hook my component box to some speakers but i have never seen this kind of plug before so i dont know what kind of speakers to look for.
should i just hook my CD player to the component box and find speakers for it or is there a way i can leave it how it is? any suggestions???

Lets try to make some sense in this pile of antique stereo...
Starting with probably only piece I could remotely care about is your vintage 76-77 stereo receiver :
Here are it's specs:
Re: Rotel RX 503 Specs From Stereo Mag's Fall 1977 Issue... - FRG7SWL - Vintage Asylum

About the speaker connectors:

These look like regular spring loaded clips and would probably accept wires AWG 20 to 18 (Maybe 16)

Based on 35W/Wpc amp section - I would recommend to look for speakers with very high efficiency, like Klipsch or Bic (HT-64 or similar)

If your Pioneer PD-Z86M doesn't recognize CDs and doesn't play them - It's most likely passed it's age and could safely retired - it's not worth paying to be fixed.

You should connect your CD player using RCA analog cables to AUX port and Tape player to Tape port

I can't find info on rest of pieces.

If you need for more assistance next time:
a) Post more details
b) Use paragraphs and line breaks - It makes the post much easier to read

ok, that is the correct rotel (i love it). so your saying i should probably just get a new Cd player correct?

i have speakers that are connceted to my rotel now they work fine, the plugs i was talking about are on the back of the component box that i have. they are square and have 3 holes in them in the shape of a triangle... i dont really know how to explain it..

so i am trying to find speakers for this pioneer digital reciever.

If you want to play CD's yes.

Good. Now it gets strange.

Neither do we. I have no idea what a "component box" is much less the plugs it uses.

so i am trying to find speakers for this pioneer digital reciever.
That shouldn't be a problem.

any suggestions???
yes, one - ether stop trolling or if you are not - do express your thoughts more clearly in plain English

What are the components you ALREADY have? What is your component box?

Which Pioneer digital Receiver you have???

makes photos of stuff you have question about , upload them to photobucket or another photo sharing site and post the links here
