Need album recommendations

I did some searching, but couldn't find what I'm looking for. If I overlooked a thread, I apologize.

I'm looking for album recommendations (non-SACD and DVDA) that will really highlight a good, dedicated 2-channel setup. I'm open to all genres, as long as it's a high quality recording. I'm looking to add some great CD's to my collection and I'd greatly appreciate people's opinions. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Oops, just saw the stickied "20 Albums..." thread right above me. Doh! Well, I still welcome your opinions!

Any recent Mark Knopfler (On Any Street is a good one), Seconds Out or Live Over Europe if you like Genesis, Gov't Mule is good hard blues rock, The Wall- Live is really good. If you like acoustic music, Strength In Numbers 'The Telluride Sessions' is really good (Bela Fleck, Mark O'Connor, Sam Bush, Edgar Meyers and Jerry Douglas). If you like classical, while purists don't consider it to be the definitive version, Telarc's Firebird Suite (Stravinsky) is extremely dynamic. Some of Axis, Bold as Love sounds great, too.

Man, you're not asking for much, are you?

I listen to a lot of metal and I need a change, while having some good 2-channel music (too much going on with metal). Anything indie, acoustic, classical, etc. Things of that nature. Thanks guys! I love getting new music.

Let's see here...

Slightly Stoopid - Closer to the Sun (specifically the song Open Road and Closer to the Sun)

Michael Franti - Songs from the Front Porch (specifically Oh My God)

Benga - Invasion (Specifically Live Drums, shows off dynamics like a champ)

Sublime - 40Oz. to Freedom (the song Badfish, the bar at the beginning especially should surround you, also Steppin' Razor)

Bedouin Soundclash - Street Gospels (my favorite is Hearts in the Night)

If your setup has good imaging start with Michael Franti's tune Oh My God. It sounds beeaauuuttiful on a nice setup, like he is sitting right there with you.

Oh get Matisyahu - Live at Stubb's. Listen to King without a Crown and Beat Box. I will keep posting as I think of them/hear them.

Nirvana - Unplugged in New York (I like Lake of Fire for demoing stuff).

Alice in Chains - Unplugged in New York (I like Rooster for demoing stuff)

Expendables - Gettin' Filfthy (I think it's 8 I use in demoing stuff, but I don't have the file on this computer... pretty sure its whatever track 8 is)

Distance - My Demons (Specifically the track Delight) make sure you like this music first though,
(youtube quality is ****, imagine those drums with a massive dynamics)

I'll keep posting when I think of more. Please let us know if you like anything, I very interested in recommending music for people and getting comments back on what they thought.

Honestly, I think two channel listening is so much fun. With a really good pair of speakers to me it outperforms 5.1 audio. You listen to that Michael Franti track on some Dyns or Bag Ends and you'll get people pointing out where he is sitting, consistently.

Most of the MTV Unplugged cds are recorded well. Check out 10,000 Maniacs performance as well as Eric Clapton for a couple more highlights from the series.

Other well recorded albums Godspeed You Black Emperor!'s f#a#(infinity)
. The first track is an especially good show piece, there is no compression and it is quite cinematic. The other two tracks do get compressed a bit during the sections where there is a lot going on.

Jeff Buckley's Grace is also recorded well, and is simply phenomenal. One of the best albums of the 90's. Highlights include Lillac Wine, Hallelujah, and the title track.

Nina Simone an R&B/Jazz/Blues singer has many good recordings. The 2-disc Anthology is a kind of best of, that is definately worth it. Being a compilation of sorts the recording quality varies, but the superb 10min Sinner Man alone makes this worth it.
