Need advice on Surround speaker and sub-woofer placement (Pic Included!)

Hey All,

I have recently concluded building my HT room, but am having trouble selecting the rear speaker positions. I haven't bought the surrounds 'cause I am unsure what speakers best fit my setup. I have included the following diagram of the room layout.

Please advise me on what surrounds should I go for and the best placement in my case.

Also, if possible, as in where should the sub-woofer go?

I'd go with the sub behind the couch. Surrounds is a tough one. IMO, you are going to have to try some positions out and see what works because you are either going to have good sound on the couch and bad sound on the "chair" (triangle) or vice-versa.

I agree!!! The sub-woofer behind the couch was my idea too.

I would say that for me, the couch is the priority over the chair. So keeping that in mind what would people advise?

Also, would Bipoles make more sense here or directly angled surrounds?

Side surrounds above the couch, bi/dipole would probably work best. I don't think there is enough space to do monopole surrounds since they would be pretty close.
