Need advice on new HT setup

Planning to get a HT system, as of now TV is in the family room and audio runs on a Yamaha ATS1030 sound bar.
Planning to redo the basement and want to have a 5.1.2 set up room size is 11 ft by 20 ft height is only 8.5 ft, i would be getting the whole room sound proofed with double drywall on the ceiling with the sound proofing fluid in between, walls will be all filled with a decent amount of batt insulation, really though sound proofing need is in the ceiling as its 2 bedrooms straight over the HT room.

For the Receiver i am thinking of going with either Yamaha V585 or Denon S750h

I am thinking for the 5.1 surround going with the KEF T 205 set up as its Wife approved anything bigger non wall mounted would probably result in loss of peace and calm.
For the Ceiling / height channels i was originally thinking to go with in ceiling speakers but that would probably defeat the soundproofing on the ceiling, unless i spend a sizable amount on getting a ceiling backer box with sound dampening and all that or building one which seems to be tough and don't want to put something i build inside the walls :).

So then I started looking at having some "Atmos" enabled speakers at the top of the wall close to the ceiling like KEF q50 / SVS prime elevation etc. these tend to be overly expensive though, then it dawned what if i use a outdoor speaker like the KEF Ventura 5 and mount it from the ceiling, I can run the wires no problems as the basement remodeling is yet to start

So here is where the advice I need
1) Yamaha V585 or Denon S750h
2) with all the limitations around ceiling mounting should I go with an Atmos enabled speaker placed close to the ceiling above the surrounds or with the outdoor speaker mounted from the ceiling.
3) should I drop the plan for the Atmos set up and go only for 5.1 how good of an experience does the 2 Atmos channel provide?,
4) In case I go for 5.1 setup will downgrading my receiver to a Yamaha V485 or equivalent from denon actually reduce sound quality?

Adding this info if it makes any deifference

If you are doing a nice basement setup and you have open walls, I would put in a projector, hands down!

You can get a 1080p projector for around $500 and add a 120 inch screen for another $300, making it around $800 (maybe $900 with a mount) to go four times the size of your 'TV', and actually make the room into a home theater instead of a surround room with a average TV.

I would probably build some back boxes for the height speakers to get the most out of the room and the setup.

Seriously, I have no life.
Welcome to AH.
With that length of room I would plan on a 7.1.4 setup.

Somehow projectors never fancied me for their picture quality, that is why I am not going for projectors. I would rather go for the largest screen size TV available

Thanks reason I was sticking to 5.1.2 was that cost of receivers which get prohibitive beyond the 7.2 channels, leaving me even lesser budget for the speakers.

Denon or Marantz for my Vote

Samsung Q60 75" is a Great Deal right now

Once remodeling is done and the receiver and speaker are procured, I would. Have burnt through my entertainment budget will have to wait some additional time before I get a new TV

Not sure what you saw then. Projectors match the resolution of TVs and really do deliver a 'home theater' experience, but not if the room is white or the projector is not setup properly in the room, which I have seen numerous times. Your room though man, have at it.

Thanks for the information, maybe the projector set ups I have seen in a home theater environment was done wrong, my main issue is I feel there is a higher chance to get the projector set up wrong, alignment, and all and for a 4k resolution projector they are priced close to a 80 inch IPS panel.
