need advice on mid range home theater system + outdoor speakers

I am new to this discussion forum and an amature in this field. Looking for a mid range home theater system, something that could also support outdoor speakers. Looking to spend around $3000. Currently have Sony Bravia LCD TV and HD cable.

Any advice is very much appreciated

Small Denon or Pioneer receiver, Ascend Acoustics speakers. Just make sure the receiver has a zone 2 on it so you can connect your outdoor speakers.
