Need advice on a center and surround speakers

Over the holidays, I finally started my own home theater setup. For now, I'm only running a pair of Paradigm Atoms up front with a Denon AVR-888 receiver. In the next two or three weeks, I want to piece together a center channel and two surround speakers, and then somewhere further along, a sub.

I live in an apartment and the room this will be in is about 15x13, so i don't need anything too excessive. I'll use this primarily for movies and games, and the occasional music.

I've been looking at speakers from Paradigm, as well as PSB and Energy. What speakers would you guys recommend considering what I have going now and my end goal is a solid 5.1 setup? Thanks in advance.

Congrats! You're on your way to a nice setup. If it were me, i'd get another pair to run as surrounds, and the cc-190 for the center. The Atoms are a nice sounding speaker for the money. :)

I strongly recommend that you get a center speaker that matches whatever you will be using for the front right and left. That way, when a sound pans across the front, its tonal quality will be consistent as it is reproduced by the different front speakers. Ideally, it will be identical to what you use for the front right and left, but generally just getting whatever the manufacturer of the fronts sells as a "voice matched" center channel will give adequate results.

If you were thinking of upgrading the front speakers, now would be a good time to do so, and just move your current fronts to the back. But if you are happy with your current fronts, it is fine to continue to use them there.

Would you go with two more Atoms over the ADP-190's? I had previously been eyeing the CC-190 so I'm just about sold on that one.

The room these speakers will be in isn't too big and I probably won't be moving anytime soon so I think I will be fine keeping the Atoms up front rather than switching those now.

Also, I didn't mention this before but I would prefer to wall mount the surround speakers if at all possible. That's not a must, just a preference.

I also didn't go into my budget at all... I'm definitely on a budget, but at the same time, I would rather spend more for quality than rush to get something affordable now. I'm thinking somewhere in the ~$350 range for the center and I'm not even sure on the surround pricing. Maybe ~$300-350?
