I can't seem to find any base plates with adjustable legs online. I want to raise my speakers off the carpet and my floor slopes a bit. I see pictures everywhere for these base plates with adjustable carpet spikes but I can't find a website that carries them. Is there a technical term for these bases? I want the type that has knobs on top of the plate that connect to and control the height of the spikes below the plate. The speaker rests in the middle of the plate between the knobs.

What about something like the MoPAD? Perhaps not adjustable in the true sense of the word, but they might work.

Put a couple of quarters or something similar in the front to lift the speaker from the ground.

You are looking for 'speaker plinths (bases) with outriggers'. They seem to be sold by websites who cater to audiophiles and are rather expensive, such as http://www.soundocity.com/Straight_End_1.50_Spikes.html

You can purchase sets of adjustable speaker spikes at much more reasonable prices, and make your own plinths or screw them directly onto the bottoms of speaker cabinets.

If that costs too much, use quarters (as suggested above), or for the budget-minded audiophile, nickels.
