Need a Sub.. Something that Kicks Hard

I've got about 300-500 to spend on a subwoofer. And from what I've read so far, if I'm looking for superior clarity, SVsubwoofers is a company that can do just that.

But what if I'm looking for what will give me the hardest kick in the chest for that same price range, I'm a bit lost.

Any sugg?

IE. I am still building a HT system, and for the time being, I could see getting a subwoofer first to make house parties a bit more, alive. Then, hopefully using that same sub in a HT system.

So its gotta punch hard, but still be semi clear

Or should i just stick with quality and leave the gangsta sub behind?

I like the SVS PB10...I own one. And it does an adequate-to-good job in my big a$$ living room. I'd love to see what it could do in a smaller space.

As for the Hsu, that's another that gets a lot of recommendations...and if you're looking to buy now, you could save $100...there's a guy that posted one today on Audiogon with only 25 hrs of use for $399. Plus free cables.
