Need a specific Centeral Channel

So I want to buy my dad a center channel, but the problem is, he has no wall behind his tv..it's on a stand...there's just a railing behind it..weird layout..don't ask lol.

He has ascend acoustic fronts and the matching center is too large to fit on the stand anywhere...

Are there any small centers that would work? The fronts without a center are really struggling with a lot of movies and it's driving him nuts.

On the stand? Or in front of the stand? If you mean on the stand, the ascend is too deep to fit the center + tv..Unless an Orb 2 would suffice?

Maybe the tv could sit on top of the center.

He can't get a HTM-200SE to fit under the stand where they have a center channel on the BDI website?

And no, I wouldn't bother using an Orb for a center channel.

So my issue with that compartment is that it is a lot lower than head level..I think it would bug the crap out of me.

OK, I can get 2x Auralex MoPads and the HTM 200SE..would be perfect, I hope

Can you measure how much space you have on that top shelf between the TV base and the edge of the stand? That might help us figure out a solution.

Also, if you have an issue with the compartment space, you could always try putting something underneath the front to angle it up towards your ears.

EDIT: Yeah, what you said :D

Well, the HTM-200 is 6.5" tall, and my MoPads at the highest angle is 2.75" with both pieces of foam. It is 1.75" at the highest point without the other foam triangle. So, it might barely fit if you have the front of the speaker sticking out of the stand, but it's going to be a tight fit either way, and for ~$35 for a piece of foam, not a cheap proposition.

I have seen people use doorstops as a bargain solution to angle the CC up, but I'm not sure how much that would add to the height. Doing that might let you squeeze a CMT-340 SEC in there.
