Need a small center (6” max height) to match Paradigm Reference Studio 60 v.2’s.

Got a friend who is looking for a black Paradigm center that will come close to matching. The true match, the Reference Studio Center CC v.2 is too large. We understand the timbre match won’t be exact, but that’s ok. Any suggestions?

I would try to find another location for the speaker if possible. With that 6" restriction, I think you're going to find it tough to find a speaker that is going to really sound decent.

Agreed! I was hoping the CC-170 would fit for him, but it's 6 3/4" in height. And that's one of the smallest ones they make.

He may be SOL.

Hooked thanks for the link! I know he would prefer to stick with a Paradigm, but that may not be possible.

The smallest they make is the Cinema 110 C, but neither it nor the 170 will keep up with 60s.

Understood! Especially since he's powering his 60's with a Parasound 1500A and the center would only get an Onkyo receiver.

Speakers on shelf

Keep in mind that if the 6" dimension is due to a shelf height, that the enclosed area around the speaker will effect its ability to perform properly. Your best bet is a matching paradigm on a bracket above the display. Also, the center channel is very important to HT.

If you are willing to make major compromises in tonal matching. You might hook up the TV's powered speakers to the mono center output and see how it sounds.

Is 6" height a requirement or a wish? If he's looking for something around 6", there's a number of centers with 5 1/4" drivers that run around 6 1/2" tall.

The Klipsch RC-10 is listed at 5.4", and the Def Tech Procinema 100 center is 5.25". Either of these would be vastly superior to any built-in TV speaker I've ever heard.

He actually should be looking at the cc-470 or cc-570
they both run ~10"
