If you do a search here, you should come up with some stuff. I know that I've discussed it before - some in PMs, but also some in posts.

I have the Pioneer 1015 and really like it. When mine stopped working temporarily, I started looking into the 1018 (which hadn't been released, yet). The only cons for me were (a) lack of THX surround processing, which I happen to like on my 1015, and (b) lack of either a 12v trigger or switched outlet to send a signal to my external amps.

I do have external amps, but my 1015 is able to drive my NHTs (with sensitivities of 85 dB) well until I get to really loud levels.

Out of my posts that I could find, I think that this one is the only one that probably gives any more info that might help you.

I had another post that compared the 1018 to the VSX-01 (the next step up). The VSX-01 adds 12v triggers. I like the white display on the 1018 better than the orangish display on the VSX-01.
