Hey guys,

Just found this website in searching for a new home theater system and have a couple of quick questions.

First, I was looking at this 1000 Bare Bones system audioholics put together, seen here, http://www.audioholics.com/buying-guides/system-buying-guides/the-1000-bare-bones-system/equipment-product-recommendations . My first question is I am leaning towards going with this system, buying in stages since I can not afford the entire thing at the moment, and the speaker sets on AV123.com are not available at the moment. So, to the question, I am looking for a slightly better receiver then the one suggested. I would like one with a couple more optical in and HDMI switch would be a huge bonus but not a necessity. I just wanted to get some of your guys opinions on some better receivers, i want to ensure that the receiver will go well with the speakers. I am looking at about 400 dollars for a budget. I tried using the forum search a little but couldnt find anything about a receiver relating to these specific speakers.

Secondly, do you think it is worth the hassle to go through all of this indivudually, or should I just purchase a HTIB. I know this second question is probably in the wrong section, but I did see that circuit city and a couple other sites have a Denon HTIB with Boston acoustic speakers. Here is that:
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Denon-Home-Theater-System-DHT687BA/sem/rpsm/oid/159500/catOid/-12954/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do . Does anyone have any experience with this system? Do you think it would still be better to slowly buy the other bare bones system above?

I currently have a sony HTIB that is about 10 years old, so about ready to upgrade. It is going in a fairly small room 11 ft x 15 ft rectangle if that makes to much of a difference in selection i am not sure. I am fairly new to all this. Any help is appreciated.

Regardless of which receiver you get, the Onix x-ls speakers will be much better than the Boston Acoustic speakers in the HTIB.

If you haven't already seen it, have a look at the review of the Onix x-ls speakers on one of the other AH forums, http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29936. I don't think any HTIB speaker can hold a candle to them. If they are out of stock now, there is a good reason why, wait until they make more.

Finding a reciever that "goes well" with those speakers will not be a problem. If you want to spend more on a HT receiver, look for the alternate Yamaha or Denon (or Onkyo) models suggested in the $1000 bare bones system.
